I’ve always sewn. I used to sew penguin finger puppets that I kept in the freezer when I was little (my parents were thrilled, I’m sure). I embroidered portraits of my housemates when we left university (whether they liked it or not). I sewed the names of all the guests at my wedding on their napkins (which, only finishing the night before, I came to regret). 

 

After years of making things by hand, I noticed two things. One, people really love receiving something handmade. And two, people often seem convinced that they’re not ‘creative’, when really they are. 

 

Tall Sky Sewing was born from these ideas. I wanted to create embroidery kits that are modern, bold, and a little weird, and show that creating something handmade for yourself or someone else doesn’t have to be intimidating or time-consuming. Every kit is designed to be beautiful and achievable. With only six simple stitches, you can create something meaningful. Because everyone deserves the thrill of starting a new project.
